The Sun represents maturity in the Tarot. The state into which we are rushing with our development (that is why the Sun is practically at the end of the series of Major Arcana, behind it there are only such "logical commonplaces"). It is a state of pure joy and happiness. Permanent, not temporary, which is ensured by not feeling dependent on anything, limited by anything, or afraid of anything. We feel that we are living a life we enjoy and find fulfilling. We are our own Sun, and our radiance of contentment illuminates our surroundings and everything we embark on.
